“I’m like the female version of Sean “Diddy” Combs, you can’t stop me and no one compares to me,” the talented Flowshia rightfully declares. “See, I like to see it as, they are who they are and I am what I hope to be. I’ve been recording from a laptop, now that my studio is up, it’s game over. Like Lil Wayne said “Nobody can do what I can. I am the best at what I do and that’s everything”. It’s time to make music.

Flowshia is hip hop’s upcoming threat, hip-hop’s savior, the voice of the young people, soon to be one of the industry’s great successful moguls and the the most versatile. As planned, on July 18th, Flowshia will release the most anticipated album, The Diedem on Gasmask Revolt/FFR Records. The Diedem  as Flowshia has entitled the project stands for Tiara, which is her birth name. The project is to be the explosive follow-up to her 2012 mixtape, Studio Diaries Vol. 1.Flowshia is widely regarded as one of the top female rappers according to Reverbnation, Artistpr, and local prospects. Love Side of Whiskey ranked in the top 4 mixtapes in 2011-2012 in which it still continues to hold it’s title. Love Side of Whiskey gained 54,000 plays it’s first week, and spawned hits such as “Come Take A Look” and “Down In the Studio

The cast of the album’s producers feature upcoming stars, such as, Beats Planet, Purps beats, Tom Davids, Adam Ivy, Mr Kooman, Superstar O, and Flowshia

“I’ve been taking my time on this album,” Flowshia states. “There has been multiple versions, multiple introductions that I recorded before I gave interviews about my come back last year. I decided to start over for the most part and touch bases with myself and make music for me in a sense. I had new ideas, new artists’ came into rotation and they gave me a new outlook on things. I wanted to give back to people in Mississippi mainly, so I have a few songs where it’s just them doing them. Some in which are in better circumstances than others but all are very talented. Everything has been very up to date, I show my views of the world, so some songs get very personal. At this point I don’t need to say how the quality of the album is going to be. My creativity has it’s own boundaries so know when you hear anything produced, recorded, or mixed by Tiara “Flowshia” McDonald, just know it’s going to be beyond perfect.

Flowshia’s music life started in Oakland, Ca. She was born Tiara McDonald in Berkeley. Outside of music, Flowshia had two loves, basketball and cooking. At age eleven, Flowshia, wrote her first set of lyrics and decided she will one day be a professional artist in the music industry. The new year, Flowshia caught the attention of local friends in Brentwood, and Oakland, California, who were just starting their musical empire independently. Flowshia became a well-respected DJ at local parties where she learned the fundamentals of mixing tracks.

Flowshia was loved for the music she was putting out, every once in a while she would sneak one of her own tracks into rotation to obtain feedback. Throughout the years Flowshia continued to stay determined, even throughout the hardships. In 2009, Flowshia, once Rabbit of Looney Toonz Entertainment, decided to take the next step and release a 16 track mixtape. The mixtape became a milestone, gaining 30,000 plays, 1,500 fans, and a lot of critics. It was reported in 2011 that Flowshia still has the mixtape and even goes back and listens to the mixtape for self improvement, but she removed it from the internet entirely, changed her name, and adopted a new flow (which is why she has her name FLOWSHIA/FLOW).

In 2011, Skitzo, Six Virual, once Breezy and Flowshia became a part of one the most influential and lauded hip-hop groups in the history of the culture, FSB. The three letter abbrievation stands for Flowshia, Skitzo and Breezy. Not only did they have different rap and fashion styles that are still influential today, but the collective introduced slang words that are becoming a-part of today’s pop culture.
